Dr. Mohamed Kazamel is a Professor of Neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He serves as the director of the UAB Autonomic Testing Laboratory and the Assistant Director of the Shin J. Oh Muscle and Nerve Histopathology Laboratory. He graduated from Mansoura Medical School, Egypt and completed his Neurology residency training at UAB. He then did his Neuromuscular Medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He is widely published on hereditary, inflammatory, and toxic neuropathies. Dr. Kazamel is heavily involved in multiple clinical trials for peripheral nerve and neuromuscular junction disorders. He has become a member of the Porphyria Consortium in 2019 which is sponsored by the NIH Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network.
